رؤيتي ورسالتي واهدافي خلال عملي في القسم
1. الرؤية Vision: هي المساهمة في بناء قسم علوم جو بمستوى يضاهي الاقسام المناظرة في العالم
2. الرسالة Mission: يعد قسم علوم الجو القسم الوحيد بالعراق الذي يقوم بتدريس مواد علوم الجو باحدث المقررات العالمية والمختبرات. لذا تقوم الهيئة التدريسية للقسم بتخريج العديد من طلبة الدراسات الاولية والعليا لرفد مؤسسات الدولة ذات العلاقة بالموارد البشرية المؤهلة، وكذلك اقامة المؤتمرات والندوات والورش وتقديم الاستشارات.
3. الاهداف Objectives:
* تخريج طلبة ذوي كفاءة في النواحي النظرية والعملية ولديهم القدرة على التحليل والاستنتاج والمنطق بعقلية نقدية مبدعة.
* ان تكون للطلبة المقدرة على التفاعل مع التطورات والمستجدات العلمية والتكنولوجية المتعلقة بالاختصاص وكذلك متابعة التغيرات الجوية والمناخية والبيئية العالمية والمحلية.
* تطوير الجوانب المتعلقة باستخدام الطلبة للرياضيات والحاسوب وزيادة كفائتهم في التعامل مع المصادر العلمية باللغة الانكليزية.
* توفير كافة الخدمات المتعلقة بالاختصاص للمؤسسة الاكاديمية وبقية دوائر الدولة.

اؤمن بان اي دارس للعلوم يجب ان يتبنى العقل النقدي الشكوكي وعدم التزمت بالقناعات الراسخة والتخلص من التفسيرات الغير علمية التي لا تبنى على الدليل العلمي والتجارب. كما اشجع طلبتي على اعتماد النقاش والتفاعل داخل المحاضرة وتوجيه الاسئلة. المادة العلمية يجب ان توصل باسهل الطرق الممكنة وكذلك تدريب الطلبة على استراتيجية الدراسة والتخطيط، والموازنة بين السرعة والدقة واختيار الحلول المثلى بين مجموعة خيارات متقاربة.
