| Department of Civil Engineering at College of Engineering held a symposium about the problems and solutions of Mosul Dam.The meeting tackled the instructional reality and water security of the dam.The attendees presented their researches discussing the dam's situation since it had been instructed until this day , stating all the obstacles and problems faced the dam and the solutions used throughout the previous years, in addition to presenting a full explanation about its recent reality. Many researchers presented their researches during the symposium such as the research entitled ( Reality of Mosul dam: Problem and Solutions ) by Dr.Rasul Mejbel, and (Proposed Solutions for Mosul Dam )by Medhat Shaker as well as the research entitled (Probable causes of the dam failure and proposed Solutions )by Sana Ajil .(Gypsum soils at the dam and its problems)was the shared research presented by both May Sameer and Abbas Aday.Finally, the research entitled (geological structure of Mosul dam) was presented by Shaima Hassan.
Before the end of the symposium, participants discussed with dean of the College the actual situation of the dam and media intimidation around it and the suggested solutions, in which the lecturers concluded that the possibility of the collapse of the dam was unreal and that the government began to make the necessary for the maintenance of it.* |
