| Under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hussein al-Shahristani, and the presence of president of Al-Mustansiriyah University Prof. Dr. Falah al-Asadi, and dean of Faculty of Education, Dr. Ahmed Shaial, Faculty of Education held a symposium about the academic integrity in Iraqi universities with the participation of a Committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Commission of Public Integrity.
The symposium was under the slogan of "The sense of belonging and its role in promoting integrity values as part of the educational ethics of the university lecturers " was attended by the advisor of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Mohsen ALFuraiji and director of Iraqi anti-corruption academy Mr. Mohammed Ali al-Lami in addition to others.
The symposium discussed ethics of scientific research and standards of academic integrity among post-graduate students , also discussed the violation of rights of scientific titles as they performed their leadership role in the universities as well as the importance of ownership and protection of rights . The symposium tackled the statement of ethics of Public Integrity Commission and scientific research as well as the academic freedom and integrity ,academic dependence and the relationship between ethics and the field of education and psychology.
The symposium recommended the need to confirm the vital role of university media in spreading the values of integrity and ethics in scientific research and intellectual ownership , and working on teaching these concepts in the curriculum of human rights for students in first stages of the Iraqi universities.
At the end of the symposium ,the dean rewarded the attendees Appreciation certificates, as he expressed his gratitude to the participants in this symposium , which was the starting point for achieving transparency and integrity in governmental institutions and the academic's in particular.* |
