The highest power in the university, president of the university council, have the authorities according to the rules of the minister of higher education and scientific research and in order to achieve the goals of the university and execute it's strategies , the university council is directly associated with the president.

The highest authority in the university that manage it and determine it's targets and strategies and the general policy also the adoption of the plans and their execution having all the required authorities and rights to control university work and achieve required targets

Mustansiriyah university hosts events of various fields, it has one of the biggest halls and stadiums for events in addition to it's active participations in all the events and activities held in the other sportive, cultural and educational corporations inside and outside Iraq

The complex consisits of the presidency building , administrative , scientific and service offices also there are stadiums , fields for football , volleyball .basketball , tennis and other games ,symposiums and conferences halls, the complex includes faculties of arts, education and science .

Mustansiriyah university was established in 1963 , it's name belongs to the heritage of the Arab civilization, the abbasi mustansiriyah school which was one of the oldest academic establishments in the islamic arab and universal history.
